This class is an introduction to Aquaponics, which is the combination of Hydroponics (growing plants without soil) and Aquaculture (Fish culture).  During this class the participant will be learning the basic requirements of growing fish and plants and how to develop a system where the two work together to meet the needs of each other.  The system (BarrelPonics (R)), being presented by Travis Hughey of (www.fastonoline.org), will incorporate the use of materials available in developing countries to enable the user to grow more vegetables with less water consumption than with traditional/conventional agricultural methods.  A bill of materials will be provided for the student to bring if they wish to complete a working system during the class.
