Wes earned a B.S. in Plant Pathology from Ohio State University, and has taken graduate level courses in the pursuit of an M.S. His family and he served in Bolivia in the late 1990’s as an Agriculture missionary with Food For The Hungry. In addition to that, Wes had a 35+ year career working in the environmental field as a Lipid Scientist with Abbott Nutrition. In 2013, Wes and his wife Libby moved from Ohio to Marion, NC, to teach Agriculture at Equip’s campus. Wes also manages two community gardens in Marion, where the produce is given to local food pantries and to needy individuals. He is also the founder of the GIFT (Gardening Initiative for Teens) program, where teens are educated in gardening, Scripture memorization, discipleship and Christian living. Libby serves as the Dining Room Coordinator on the Equip campus in Marion. Wes and Libby have four grown daughters and five grandchildren.
