Basic Guidelines for cutting of Granite Tiles
The granite tiles have been a popular choice for constructing floors, walls and counter tops. People purchase them according to the size of the room and appoint a professional tiler to get them installed. However, the tiles will give an unkempt look, if you don’t cut them with finesse. Moreover, it’s all the more cumbersome to place the tiles evenly on the surface.
Hence, you should follow the given below tips while cutting the tiles.
1 You should maintain proper safety by wearing goggles and a protective gear while cutting the tiles to the required size.
2 Firstly, plan out the measurement of tiles according to the tiling surface before cutting the tiles. After carrying out the analysis, mark the tiles according to the size with help of a pencil. Now, cross check the marked dimensions twice in order to avoid any mistakes while cutting the tiles.
3 Now cut the granite tiles slowly in a straight line. You should avoid harsh movements while cutting the tiles; otherwise they’ll crack or chip down. These tiles also have few small granules inside the surface, so don’t panic if the tiles get chipped from the edges because minor mistakes are inevitable.
4 You should take proper care of the tiles once they have been cut. You should wear leather gloves while placing them on the surface because the edges of the tiles are really sharp and can cause accidents.
5 As soon as you have cut the tiles put the tiles and the saw away for safety purposes.
6 You can also use a nipper for cutting the tiles. This tool can be used to cut tiles in a bit rough and uneven manner. However, you can use decorative plates to hide the rough edges.
