Dr. Tom Rach holds a Ph.D. in Agricultural Education and Extension. His wife, Nancy, has a B.S. in Rural Sociology. Originally from southwest Michigan, the Rachs have been serving for more than 21 years in one of the poorest states in Mexico, the southern state of Chiapas. Using Corazones Abiertos Jornadas (Open Hearts’ Journey, therapy groups), bible studies, resource translations and agricultural & community development, they minister to the people of Chiapas, Mexico and Latin America. They work in partnership with local Christians and congregations. Last year the majority of our ministry was interpersonal relationships and our Jornadas for abused and hurting people. The community impact is on the individual level but we are ministering to people who in turn go back to their communities and are sparks of light in the darkness.
